City Gardens

Just returned from a great family vacation to Hatteras and looking forward to a continued break from work until after the Fourth. Yesterday, despite 100-degree plus temperatures, I constructed our much-anticipated raised garden bed for a few herbs and veggies. Since it's late in the season, I cheated and planted already-grown plants in addition to starting the leafy greens from seeds.

From the front of the house, the garden is hidden from view in our lower backyard, below a brick terrace. So, when Jeremiah rolled up from his 6-hour Tour de Burg ride, he didn't even notice it. So it was fun to see the look on his face when I showed him later on in the afternoon, when he was recovered from the long day in the sun.

I'm going to hang on to the vacation feeling until Wed. morning, then it's back to work to prepare for an exciting week of big presentations and our office's move.

For those of you who haven't heard from me in a while, my cell phone crashed and was shipped back to the company. Shoot me an e-mail and give me your digits!

Enjoy the Fourth of July!
