La Ruta Recovery
It's been an overwhelming day and half since I first recieved the collect call from William Allen Hospital in Turrialba, Costa Rica where Jeremiah was taken following his accident. But, it's also amazing far things have progressed since then.
Jeremiah is recovering very well at Hospital CIMA San Jose, in Costa Rice, where he was taken to recieve futher treatment. When I spoke with him after his surgery, I could not help but notice how clear his voice sounded and how cheery he was. I exclaimed, 'you sound great!' To which he replied, "I AM Great!" He's got some new titanium hardware, but this time it's not on the bike.
Much thanks to his skilled surgeon Oscar Arango Pietersz (who happens to be a HUGE fan of mountain biking), coach Hunter Allen, and Costa Rica's TREK importer Ignatio Pasos for all that they have and are doing to make the situation incredibly smooth - all things considered.
I'll be glad to get Jeremiah back home in Harrisonburg. Until then, we'll make sure that any big news gets posted to his blog.
He'll be riding more miles than all of us again in no time!
Thanks to everyone for your messages and support,
Erin
